We'll meet at the entrance to the Fundación Herdez to begin this journey to the origins of Tenochtitlan. In front of the façade of this museum, we'll take our first steps into the pre-Hispanic past with an introduction to the historical and cultural context of the Mexica.
Next, we'll go to the archaeological site of the Templo Mayor, one of the most iconic places of the ancient Tenochtitlan. We'll walk among the platforms and temples dedicated to Huītzilōpōchtli, the god of war, and Tláloc, the god of rain. We'll reveal how sacred rituals were performed and what techniques the Mexica used in their constructions.
Our tour will continue at the Templo Mayor Museum, where more than 7000 archaeological pieces are preserved. Sculptures, ceremonial offerings, tools and everyday objects will help you understand the spiritual and material life of the Aztec people. Each room will tell us about their customs, worldview and contact with the divine.
After a 2-hour tour, we'll conclude the visit in the museum itself, where you can continue exploring at your own pace, an unforgettable journey into the past!
