Nighttime Safari Pantanal
Description
We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Fazenda San Francisco, and from this farm located out the outskirts of Miranda, we'll make our way in a 4x4 towards the area of Pantanal. In this protected natural space, we'll try to spot the different nocturnal animals and mammals under the light of the moon and stars.
During the tour around this wetland of rice paddies, we'll try to spot the owls, which at night, open their eyes to be on the lookout for possible predators. If the conditions are in our favour, we'll also see different types of barn owls and other similar birds.
Throughout this night tour of Pantanal, we'll also discover some interesting facts about these nocturnal animals which are native to this protected area. Why do these species come out at night and sleep during the day? What do they eat? How far can they see in the dark? We'll learn about all of this and much more on this tour.
We'll continue this tour by trying to spot the different native nocturnal mammals which also make their presence known at night. Among these are the jaguarundi, a feline that can be found all over South America.
Finally, after between 2 and 2.5 hours, we'll bring this night tour to an end by returning to the meeting point.
