Our journey begins with a delicious sensory experience, via a wine and cheese tasting that will immerse you in the most authentic flavors of Naxos.
Afterward, we'll enter the imposing Venetian Castle of Naxos through the South Gate. We'll stroll through its flower-festooned alleys, admiring the architectural constructions of another era that still recall a fascinating medieval past.
Our tour will take us through the cloister and the school of the Ursuline nuns. There we'll stop to enjoy spectacular views of the town of Naxos and its surroundings. We'll continue the walk to the East Gate, winding through a maze of narrow alleys until we reach the North Gate. From this point, all the streets will lead you to the port of Naxos, where you'll feel a connection with the history of the island.
We'll stroll through the Old Market, a cozy area full of souvenir stores, art galleries and a very special atmosphere. Arriving at the promenade, we'll stop to taste the famous Citron de Naxos liqueur, a sweet touch before our last stop.
The highlight of this tour of Naxos Castle will be Portara, the most emblematic place of the island. Did you know that these ruins are part of the Greek temple of Apollo? This was its door! There we'll enjoy a magnificent sunset that will dye the horizon with orange colors. You're sure to fall in love with Naxos!
Then, we'll return to the starting point, arriving 2.5 hours later.
