East Nizhni Novgorod Tour
East Nizhni Novgorod Tour
At 1.30 pm, we'll meet at Kuzma Minin Square and start the tour through the eastern part of Nizhny Novgorod, the most historic area of the city. As we explore the eastern part of the city we'll talk about the origins of the fifth most populated city in Russia. Did you know that its foundation dates back to 1221?
Among the most important places in the east of Nizhny Novgorod is Minina and Pozharsky Square, which will lead us to the monument in honor of Chkalov. After unveiling the story of this renowned Russian test pilot, we'll continue the tour visiting the east side of the Kremlin, the main fortress in the historical center of the city.
Following in the footsteps of the Russian Tsars, we'll arrive at the majestic Chkalov stairs - the largest in the whole country! While revealing how the tsars used the city of Nizhny Novgorod to prevent an invasion of Moscow, we'll enjoy the views of the Volga from the eastern part of the city.
In order to discover the city's diversity, we'll stop in front of the facade of the Nizhny Novgorod Mosque. The last stop of the tour will be the Pechersky Ascension Monastery, where we'll say goodbye at 3.30 pm so that you can visit at your own leisure this building, one of the best monuments in the east of Nizhny Novgorod.
