Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Panama City, we’ll head north on a 2-hour drive to Puerto Lindo, in the province of Colón. Along the way, we’ll make a short stop so you can stretch your legs.
Once there, we’ll board a speedboat, and the true Caribbean adventure begins. After a brief ride across calm waters, we’ll reach Monkey Island. From the boat, we’ll enjoy a short sighting of spider monkeys, observing them in their natural habitat as they leap between the trees and curiously watch us from above.
We’ll continue navigating until we arrive at an area of natural pools where you’ll have time to swim. Next, we’ll search for the Tunnel of Love, a natural passage covered in mangroves that creates a magical play of light and color between the vegetation and the water. It’s a short but enchanting ride, where the quiet is broken only by the sound of the boat and the whisper of nature.
Soon after, the silhouette of Mamey Island will appear before us. Upon arrival, you’ll have 4 hours of free time to enjoy the beach. Swim, sunbathe, and when hunger strikes, we’ll serve lunch featuring chicken or fish accompanied by seasonal sides and a soft drink.
With renewed energy, we’ll return by boat to the mainland. From there, we’ll travel by vehicle to the historic ruins of Portobelo. During a guided tour of approximately 30 minutes, we’ll recall how these shores once played a key role in the colonial and commercial history of the Panamanian Caribbean.
Finally, we’ll head back to your hotel in Panama City, where we’ll say goodbye after 9 hours of exploration.
