Mirador de las Américas, Biomuseo & Mi Pueblito Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We’ll pick you up from your Panama City hotel and head to one of Latin America’s most unique tourist complexes: Mi Pueblito. Let’s go!
Upon arrival, we’ll explore this cultural site, which meticulously recreates three worlds that shape Panamanian identity: indigenous heritage, Afro-Antillean influence, and the colonial era. Did you know that each replica is based on real constructions from across the country?
During the 1.5-hour visit, we’ll stroll among colorful wooden houses, traditional huts, and cobblestone streets that transport us back in time. Get your cameras ready, you’ll want photos at every corner of Mi Pueblito.
Next, we’ll visit the Mirador de las Américas, a spot with privileged views of the Panama Canal and the Pacific Ocean. Here, we’ll admire how this engineering masterpiece connects continents and oceans and learn curious facts about its history.
After a half-hour visit, we’ll continue to the Amador Causeway, home to the Biomuseo. Inside, we’ll marvel at the design by renowned architect Frank Gehry, whose shapes and colors reflect Panama’s lush biodiversity. Over a 2-hour tour, we’ll explore exhibitions on how the Isthmus of Panama shaped the natural history of the planet.
For those who prefer not to enter the museum, there’s the option to walk through the outdoor gardens and enjoy the sea breeze with views of Panama Bay and the city skyline.
Finally, we’ll return to the vehicle and head back to your hotel, concluding this 5-hour day trip.
