The Old Town Square of Prague (Staromestske Namesti, or just Staromak) is the heart and soul of the city. Apart from its sheer, breathtaking beauty, the square has been witness to a number of Prague's most important historical events.

History

The Old Town Square was founded as the central marketplace in Prague in the 12th century. Since then, it has been the site of medieval executions, political gatherings and conflicts. Today, it's surrounded by the famous Astronomical Clock, the Church of Our Lady Before Týn and much more!
