Day Trip Details 

After picking you up from your hotel, we’ll settle into the vehicle that will take us on a pleasant journey to Salvador de Bahía, the state capital. Ready to discover its heritage on a panoramic tour?

Upon arrival, we’ll first stop at the Fort of Santo Antônio da Barra, where the Barra Lighthouse stands in all its splendor. Its walls, marked by battles and storms, tell the story of how it defended the bay at Ponta do Padrão. Did you know this was one of the first lighthouses in South America?

We’ll continue along the Corredor da Vitória, a boulevard where old aristocratic mansions stand side by side with modern buildings. Next, we’ll head into Campo Grande, a key stage of Bahia’s famous carnival, where the music never seems to stop. The route will take us to the heart of Salvador, Pelourinho, its historic center. There, we’ll wander among colorful houses, Baroque balconies, and streets that preserve centuries of cultural blending.

At Praça Municipal, we’ll admire views of the lower city from above and see the Lacerda Elevator, one of the world’s first urban elevators. Meanwhile, at Praça da Sé, we’ll see the ruins of Brazil’s first basilica, a witness to the birth of the faith in colonial times.

Midway through the day, we’ll take a break of between 1.5 hours and 2 hours so you can enjoy lunch on your own.

After lunch, we’ll stop in front of the monument to Saint Dulce of the Poor, where we’ll learn about the history of the first saint born in Brazil. Then we’ll head to the Church of Our Lord of Bonfim, located on the Sacred Hill. There, we’ll see a true symbol of devotion and the birthplace of the famous fitinhas do Bonfim. These are thousands of ribbons tied to the temple’s fence as religious amulets and offerings.

Before heading back, we’ll drive around the Tororó Dam, watched over by giant sculptures of the orixás that reflect Bahia’s Afro-Brazilian heritage. Finally, we’ll visit the Mercado Modelo, where the aromas, crafts, and rhythms of Bahia will give us the perfect farewell.

Finally, we’ll head back to your hotel, where we’ll say goodbye approximately 8 hours after pickup.
