Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Quito and set off to the Papallacta Hot Springs, a charming spot tucked into the Andes located 41 mi (67 km) east of the capital.
On the way, we'll pass mountain landscapes with vegetation and, if we're lucky, we'll be able to see the region's typical fauna like the spectacled bear. Plus, we'll make a quick stop at the Quijos viewpoint to observe the stunning volcano of Antisana.
After an approximately 1.5-hour journey, we'll reach Papallacta, in the province of Napo. You'll be amazed by its natural environment and its significance as the main source of drinking water for Quito.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the day trip will be its famous thermal complex. You'll have 3 hours of free time to relax at the different volcanic water pools, known for their therapeutic properties. As you take a dip in these warm waters, you can enjoy the spectacular views of the volcano of Cayambe. You won't want to leave!
Along with the pools, you'll have access to the circuit of steam caves, and you can enjoy lunch on your own at the complex's restaurant, which offers local dishes.
Finally, we'll return to Quito and say our goodbyes at your hotel after a total of 6 hours.
