Ribeira Grande e-Bike Tour

We'll meet at the parking lot next to Areal Beach of Santa Barbara in Ribeira Grande. Here, we'll pick up our e-bikes and start pedaling through the historic center of Ribeira Grande.

We'll visit the most emblematic places of this municipality in the north of São Miguel, such as the church of Espírito Santo, an example of the baroque architecture of the Azores, the Eight Arches Bridge, and City Hall and its Clock Tower.

Next, we'll leave the center behind to tour the surroundings of Ribeira Grande. We'll pass through fields and volcanic terrain where we'll see springs, cliffs, and hydroelectric plants.

After exploring all these landscapes we'll go to Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande. Here, we'll see holes in the ground that release heat deep from within the earth and are used for cooking! We'll also admire the thermal baths of Caldeiras, which have been in operation since the 19th century, and we'll go up to the viewpoints of Coroa da Mata and Santa Iria.

Finally, we'll pedal back along the coastline, enjoying the beautiful landscape views of the spanning beaches as we ride.

We'll arrive back at the starting point, 4 hours later.
