Sugarloaf Mountain Hiking & Climbing Adventure
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the Árabe Urca restaurant to begin an unforgettable hiking and climbing adventure on Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Sugarloaf Mountain. From there, we’ll set off on a 90-minute trek along the scenic Costão trail.
We’ll start our ascent up Sugarloaf through a rugged natural path before facing the most thrilling challenge: a 15-meter rope climb up the rock wall. As we make our way up, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Guanabara Bay and the oceanfront landscapes of Niterói.
Before reaching the summit, we’ll pause at the Pedra Filosofal viewpoint, where you can admire the dramatic scenery of Rio’s southern region. If you look closely, you might even spot the Christ the Redeemer statue in the distance.
The descent will be much easier: we’ll take the free cable car down to Morro da Urca and then enjoy a peaceful 30-minute walk along a forest trail back to the base of Sugarloaf.
After about 4 hours of adventure, our Sugarloaf Mountain climbing tour will come to an end back at our starting point.
