Ice Fishing in Rovaniemi
Ice Fishing in Rovaniemi
At the selected time, we'll pick you up in Rovaniemi and head to one of the prettiest areas in the Arctic circle. During the approximately half an hour journey we'll enjoy the snowy scenery and fir tree forests of northern Rovaniemi. The natural beauty of the world's coldest city will leave you lost for words!
Having found the perfect spot on the lake, we'll dig a hole in the ice and wait for a fish to take the bait. During the winter months, the layer of ice in northern Rovaniemi can reach a depth of up to one meter. Our guide will tell you all about the technique and tricks needed to fish in the Arctic ice. All you need to worry about is being patient and enjoying the unique surroundings.
The guide will then head to find some wood to prepare a lakeside bonfire! When the fire's lit we'll roast sausages and enjoy the warmth. What a treat!
Throughout the tour not only will we enjoy unique, magnificent landscapes, but we'll also go home with some incredible photos of us ice fishing in Lapland as well as a cultural insight into the local lifestyle! Having been christened as expert fishermen in some of the most difficult conditions around, we'll take you back to Rovaniemi.
