Guatape Horse Riding Tour
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Main Park of San Rafael, in front of the church. From there, we'll board a vehicle that will take us to the starting point of the horseback ride. Are you ready to discover the heart of Antioquia?
After a 40-minute drive, before mounting, we'll prepare with the necessary equipment and a brief introduction to familiarize ourselves with the horses and the route. We'll begin the ride by crossing the mountains of Guatapé, following the trails through the subtropical rainforest.
Along the way, the landscape will unfold with ferns and hanging mosses. We'll pass by the Arenal River, the waterfall at El Tesoro Creek, and the Hidden Pool of Guatapé. Amid the foliage, it’s common to spot brightly colored birds, hear the distant murmur of water, and, with some luck, see monkeys moving through the treetops.
The ride covers about 10 km (6.21 mi) and won’t be entirely on horseback. At times, our four-legged companions will rest, and we’ll alternate riding with strategic stops to relax, swim, and cool off. The waterfalls, hidden among the vegetation, will provide refreshing sights and sounds along the way. You’ll love being fully immersed in nature!
Halfway through the day, we'll stop for 1 hour at a restaurant in the middle of the forest and enjoy a typical lunch consisting of cold meats or tamal (a traditional dish from Latin America).
With satisfied appetites, we'll finish the horseback ride and return by vehicle to San Rafael. There, we'll say goodbye at the original meeting point after 6 hours of adventure.
