Santiago de Compostela Cathedral & Museum Guided Tour
Ticket Options
During the booking process, you can choose between 3 ticket options, depending on the areas of the Cathedral you prefer to visit:
- Cathedral and Museum
- Cathedral, Museum, and Portico de la Gloria
- Complete Cathedral Tour: this last option includes everything mentioned in the previous options, and also includes the climb to the tower and the roofs. There, we'll see the temple from another point of view and enjoy the best views of the city.
At the indicated time, we'll meet on one of the streets surrounding the Cathedral, from where we'll head to the monument to begin exploring the origins of one of Santiago de Compostela's must-see landmarks. Depending on the tour option you choose, the experience will last between 2 and 4.5 hours, concluding at Obradoiro Square, right beside the famous west facade of the Cathedral.
Tour of Cathedral & Museum (2 Hours)
On this 2-hour tour option, we'll visit the cathedral museum and discover a great variety of artworks, Romanesque ruins, the library, the Chapter House, the Cloistures, the balconies, and the famous Codex Calixtinus. We'll continue this tour inside the cathedral, where we'll explore its chapels, the main altar, the Chapel of the Corticela, and even the famous Botafumeiro. Once we've concluded this visit, you'll get to see the crypt and complete the embrace of the Apostle James.
Tour of the Cathedral, Museum, & Pórtico de la Gloria (2.5 Hours)
After exploring the museum, our guided tour of the Cathedral of Santiago will continue inside the temple and the Pórtico de la Gloria, known as one of the Romanesque gems created by the great Master Mateo. Celestial Jerusalem is depicted here, and it was once an entrance to the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. The 2.5 hours will fly by!
Complete Cathedral Tour (4 - 4.5 Hours)
In this case, as well as exploring all the spots mentioned in the previous options, you'll also have access up to the tower and rooftops. From the highest point of the Cathedral, we'll enjoy spectacular views of the city's historical centre and even of the Cathedral itself. The perfect experience to get to know all the inner workings of one of the most important pilgrimage centres in the world over the course of 4 to 4.5 hours.
