Cíes Islands Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at number 31 Rúa das Casas Reais, next to Porta do Camiño, and from this point in Santiago de Compostela, we'll head south.
After a road trip of approximately 1.5 hours, we'll arrive at the port of Vigo. Once there, we'll board a ferry for 1 hour-long crossing to the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, the protected natural area that includes the Cíes archipelago.
We'll anchor at Monteaguado Island, next to Rodas Beach, a stretch of more than 1 km (0.6 mi) that was declared the best beach in the world by The Guardian in 2007. Upon arrival, the guide will give you a few brief instructions, and then you'll have 4.5 hours of free time to explore the Cíes at your own pace.
You can walk along any of the trails that run across the island, leading to the Cíes Lighthouse or the Alto do Príncipe viewpoint, a 122-m (400.3 ft) high cliff from which you'll have breathtaking panoramic views. You’ll also have time to take a refreshing swim in the Atlantic and recharge at the beach bar on Monteagudo Island.
Finally, we'll meet again at the pier to board the ferry back to Vigo. After disembarking, we'll return by road to the starting point in Santiago de Compostela, where this 11-hour trip will come to an end.
