Santiago Templars Tour
Templars Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Arco de Mazarelos, located in the center of Santiago. From here, and after a brief explanation about the Knights Templar, we'll start our guided walking tour of Santiago de Compostela.
First, we'll head to the Collegiate Church of Santa María a Real do Sar. Once there, we'll visit its interior and learn about its history as an old headquarters for the Knights Templar, as well as admire its impressive architecture and works of art. Then, we'll go by public transport to the city centre.
Once there, we'll go to another building with links to the Templars: the Church of Santa Maria do Camiño. After admiring it from outside, we'll reach the exterior of the Capilla de la Corticela, where we'll admire its facade and discover its symbolism.
After between 2 hours and 15 minutes and 2.5 hours, we'll conclude this tour of Compostela in the Praza de Quintana, next to the Santiago Cathedral. Once we end this guided tour, you'll receive a surprise souvenir that's linked to the local history and the theme of this tour.
