Mexican Cooking Class + Mercado de la Cruz Tour

  • 1 review | 2 travellers
Sergio is a great chef!! We toured the market and chose ingredients to prepare delicious dishes. Sergio was very attentive and asked us about our tastes to help us choose the menu; everything was exquisite! Maria, his wife, taught us how to make some delicious drinks! We met, cooked, ate, and drank delicious food! A great experience! Highly recommended! They are great hosts!

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Mercado de la Cruz, a lively place full of colours, smells and fresh products, to begin this gastronomic experience in Santiago de Querétaro.

For approximately 1.5 hours, we'll wander the aisles, carefully choosing the fresh ingredients we'll use in our cooking class. To work up an appetite, we'll enjoy a tasty barbecue taco while learning more about local produce and its role in Mexican cuisine.

Next, we'll head to the venue where the cooking class will take place, located about a 10-minute walk from the market. After settling in, we'll clean the ingredients while we share some interesting facts with you about the dishes we'll be cooking, their history and their preparation. You'll be surprised!

With a welcome cocktail in hand, we'll start preparing together different dishes of Mexican gastronomy and fusion cuisine. The chef will select the recipes on the day according to the ingredients and their own inspiration.

After about 2.5 hours of cooking and learning all the necessary skills, it will be time to taste our dishes paired with another cocktail, which will highlight the flavours of our creations. Your mouth will be watering!

Finally, we'll put the finishing touch to this 6 to 7 hour experience with a dessert, also prepared by yourself. It could be a typical dessert, an artisanal ice cream or some other Mexican delicacy—the perfect way to end this experience!
