Tour Details

Day 1: Santo Domingo

Welcome to the Dominican Republic! When you land at Punta Cana or Santo Domingo airport, we'll be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it and will take you to your hotel in the oldest city in the New World, Santo Domingo. A fascinating 8-day tour of the Dominican Republic awaits us.

Day 2: Santo Domingo

We'll have breakfast in the hotel and begin with a guided tour of Santo Domingo to explore the capital of the Dominican Republic. We'll venture into the Ciudad Colonial, declared a World Heritage Site, and we'll visit palaces, fortresses, museums, churches and squares steeped in history.

During the tour, we'll pass through Calle de las Damas and El Conde, two of the city's most important streets. From here, we'll go to a traditional restaurant where we'll eat one of Santo Domingo's most typical dishes, sancocho. With our appetites satisfied, we'll take you back to the hotel to rest.

At 6 pm, we'll pick you up again and take you to an open-air concert in a unique setting. We'll visit the ruins of San Francisco to enjoy merengue and jazz performed by a group of 20 people. You'll love it!

We'll end the day by returning to the hotel.

Day 3: Santo Domingo – Jarabacoa

After having breakfast, we'll get to know the other side of Santo Domingo. We'll head to Gualey, one of the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods in the Dominican Republic, where we'll visit the Rincón de Luz foundation. We'll learn about the hard work they have been doing for more than 18 years in the areas of education, nutrition and health for the underprivileged.

Next, we'll take a cable car and enjoy spectacular views of the city. Afterwards, we'll leave Santo Domingo behind and head to Jarabacoa via the oldest road in the Dominican Republic. On the way, we'll stop at a restaurant for lunch.

With our appetites satisfied, we'll continue our journey through the mountainous landscapes of the Cordillera Central, known as the Dominican Alps.

We'll end the day at the hotel in Jarabacoa.

Day 4: Jarabacoa – Santiago de los Caballeros

Good morning! We'll have breakfast at the hotel before making our way to the Monte Alto Coffee Factory, where we'll learn all about the cultivation and processing of this delicious product.

The next part of the day will be spent exploring the mountains of the Dominican Republic on foot until we reach the region's waterfalls. After learning about the area's flora and fauna, we'll travel to Santiago de los Caballeros, where we'll visit one of the country's most important cigar factories.

In the afternoon, we'll take you to your hotel in Santiago de los Caballeros and you'll have the rest of the day free.

Day 5: Santiago de los Caballeros – San Francisco de Macorís – Las Terrenas

We'll fuel up with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, before setting off towards Samaná. The first stop of the day will be in San Francisco de Macorís, where we'll visit the Cacao Trail. We'll discover the secrets of the coveted fruit of the cacao tree as we venture into the La Esmeralda Hacienda.

In addition to a tasting, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch at the hacienda. After eating, we'll continue travelling until we reach the Samaná Peninsula, specifically Las Terrenas. Welcome to the earthly paradise of the Dominican Republic!

Days 6 & 7: Las Terrenas

On days 6 and 7 of our tour of the Dominican Republic, you'll be free to enjoy the beautiful beaches of the Samaná Peninsula at your leisure. Time to relax! What's more, all food and drink at the hotel will be included on these days.

Day 8: Las Terrenas – Punta Cana or Santo Domingo Airport
