Salto de Pirapora Day Trip + Botanical Printing Workshop
Day Trip Details
Our day trip will begin after meeting up at the indicated time at the exit of the Barra Funda metro station. From there, we'll embark on a 180-kilometre (111 miles) journey from São Paulo to Salto de Pirapora.
Upon arrival, we'll sit down to enjoy a delicious breakfast, ideal for fuelling up before immersing ourselves in the creative experience that awaits us. Afterwards, we'll walk around the village in search of flowers, fruits and seeds. You'll have to pay attention to their colours, textures and shapes, as the selection will be key to the printing technique.
Once the natural elements have been collected, we'll get down to work by learning the step-by-step process of printing on fabric. We'll guide you through the arrangement of the flowers and leaves on the surface, trying out different positions. While we create, we'll tell you how this laborious technique was passed down from generation to generation by the African population of the region.
After this first part of the workshop, we'll enjoy a typical lunch with dishes inspired by Angolan gastronomy. We'll enjoy a courgette virado and a chicken caipira, made with traditional recipes. What will they taste like? You'll love them!
Feeling refuelled, we'll return to the botanical printing workshop to perfect our creations. We'll show you how to give them the final touch with personal and unique details—the perfect time to admire our work!
Afterwards, you'll have some free time to explore Salto de Pirapora, discover the local handicrafts and stroll through its narrow streets. Then, we'll meet back up to enjoy a coffee before heading back to São Paulo.
Finally, we'll say goodbye at the initial meeting point after a 12.5-hour day trip.
