Seville Cathedral & Giralda Tickets + Audio Guide
Tickets + Audio Guide
On the day of your visit, please go to the offices located at number 19 Calle Francos in Seville, in the heart of the historic centre, where we'll give you your tickets to access Seville Cathedral and the Giralda. We'll also give you instructions for downloading the audio guide on your phone so you don't miss a single detail of two of the most important monuments of the Andalusian capital.
Seville Cathedral
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987 and recognised as an Asset of Outstanding Universal Value in 2010, Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic temple in the world. Undoubtedly, it's a must on any visit to the city of Seville.
As soon as you arrive in front of its façade, you'll begin to discover the many secrets of this enormous temple built on the remains of the city's ancient mosque. Seville Cathedral, which is the third-largest cathedral in the world, after St. Peter's in the Vatican and St. Paul's in London, has 10 entrance doors, the main one being the Puerta de la Asunción. However, the Puerta del Príncipe, located in the Plaza del Triunfo, is one of the most visited because of its architectural beauty.
Once inside, you'll be completely in awe of its size. Moreover, the brilliance and splendour of the numerous works of art perfectly reflect the rich artistic heritage it possesses. Proof of this is its High Altarpiece, considered to be one of the largest in the world. The Cathedral is also home to the tomb of Christopher Columbus, as well as to some beautiful sections, such as the Royal Chapel, the Main Chapel, the Alabaster Chapel and the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. You'll learn all about these places thanks to the audio guide!
Another place not to be missed with your ticket is the Patio de los Naranjos, a haven of peace full of light and colour and a direct legacy of its past as a mosque. Strolling among its trees as you admire the architectural details of the Cathedral from the outside is a must!
Giralda
Although it's currently the bell tower of the Cathedral, the Giralda was originally intended to be the minaret of the old Almohad mosque. Today, it's the most outstanding monument in the city and, of course, one of the most visited.
Built during the Muslim period and inspired by the Koutoubia in Marrakesh, this tower was completed during the Christian period. At 104 m (341 ft) high, the Giralda is one of the most famous sights in Seville. From its highest point, you get one of the best views of Seville. To access it, you'll have to climb the 35 ramps that were installed so that it could be climbed on horseback.
