Italica Guided Tour
Tour Details
We'll meet at the entrance to the Itálica ruins in Santiponce, a small town just ten minutes from Seville. From there, our expert guide will lead us through this remarkable ancient city, sharing the stories behind its streets, mosaics, and monuments.
Why was Itálica so important in the Iberian Peninsula? Who was Trajan? And did you know his nephew Hadrian also became emperor? We'll explore the “little Rome,” including the theater and original mosaics that have survived surprisingly well for centuries.
Along the way, we’ll see the remains of ancient streets, baths, and houses, including the House of Neptune, one of the best-preserved in the entire complex, definitely a highlight!
We’ll also visit the amphitheater, once home to thrilling gladiator battles. Walk the arena where up to 25,000 spectators would gather. Fans of Game of Thrones might recognize it, as part of the series was filmed here.
The tour lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours and ends back at the meeting point.
