    Fausto was kind enough to pick us up from a reservation at a later time, and we enjoyed the walk through Sintra with him. He told us many stories related to Sintra's history: Maria II, Pedro I, the Freemasons, and more. He also provided practical commentary on life in Sintra: pirikita, restaurants, etc. It was all entertaining, although my wife prefers to hear more gossip and practical information. Thanks, Fausto.

Visit Sintra from Lisbon

Sintra is located about 30 kilometres (18.5 miles) northwest of Lisbon, nestled in the wooded hills of the Sintra Mountains near the Atlantic coast. From Lisbon, this town is easily accessible by train from the capital, making it an ideal destination for a day trip.
