Recommended activity. We went in August and we were able to see several whales up close. They provide waterproof trousers and a jacket (especially for the wind and the cold, you hardly get wet). You pick up the tickets on the main street of the town and then go to the port (20 min walk). There are car parks nearby but they are paid.
We were able to see several whales thanks to the zodiac approaching as soon as it saw them, as much as is allowed so as not to disturb the animals. You have to keep in mind that they only come to the surface to breathe, so we were very lucky. We also saw a large group of gray seals. Advice: you have to be well dressed.
