Jägala Waterfall Tour

  • 9 reviews | 114 travellers
We had a great time on the Jägala waterfall tour in Tallinn. Our guide Anu was fantastic, punctual and friendly. During the trip, Anu told us interesting facts about Tallinn and Estonia, which made the trip more interesting. Even though the waterfall was not frozen, it was absolutely stunning. Anu brought spike adapters for our shoes, which we really appreciated. She also packed us a picnic with typical Estonian products, which was delicious.

Tour Options

When booking, you can choose between 2 options. Both include an English-speaking guide and transport by minibus. Below, you can see the details of each option.

Jägala Waterfall Day Trip (2 Hours)

We'll meet at the indicated time at the Tallinn Tourist Information Center and drive to the most famous karst area in Estonia - the Jägala waterfall.

After half an hour's drive, we'll reach this imposing waterfall, a natural landscape that takes on a totally different look when the temperatures drop in Estonia - it's completely frozen over! The Jägala waterfall is the largest in the whole country, and we'll see for ourselves as we walk around it.

During the tour, alongside an English-speaking guide, we'll learn all the interesting facts and stories about this popular waterfall - did you know that the force from the water makes the rim recede 3 centimeters per year? That's the reason why a valley has been created in this area! What's more, if we can, we'll walk around admiring the beauty of the ice from up close.

After visiting the Jägala waterfall, we'll enjoy a picnic lunch with traditional local products accompanied by a hot drink.

Schedule: this option runs at 9 am

Jägala Waterfall Day Trip + Tallinn Guided Tour (4 Hours)

In this case, we'll meet at the tourist information centre in Tallinn or at the cruise terminal, depending on your choice. From there, we'll head to the Jägala waterfall, one of the most spectacular natural sites in Estonia.

Upon arrival at Lahemaa National Park, where the waterfalls are located, we'll take a tour with an English-speaking guide to discover the beauty of this area just outside Tallinn. Did you know that it's the largest natural waterfall in the country? To see its immensity, we'll walk around it and, depending on the time of the year, we may even see it completely frozen!

After visiting this magical place, we'll return to the Estonian capital for a guided walking tour of the old town. For 1.5 hours, we'll learn about Estonia's history as we stroll through Tallinn's cobbled streets and colourful houses. We'll also see the main attractions, such as the Raeapteek, the oldest pharmacy in Europe, St. Nicholas Church and the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
