Day 1: Tozeur - Douz - Sahara
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tozeur and begin an unforgettable route through the Sahara Desert. Are you ready to see sand dunes, landscapes full of natural beauty and incredible sunsets?
Aboard an off-roading jeep, we'll head to the old city of Chebika, located next to the As Sabikah Oasis. After a 45-minute journey, we'll be met by impressive mountain landscapes, canyons and streams that give rise to a unique palm grove. Nothing like what you imagine of the desert!
After spending about an hour in Chebika, we'll head to Tamerza, where a waterfall awaits us that will leave you in awe. The next stop will be at the canyons of Mides, a perfect place to admire the view.
Next, we'll stop for an hour and enjoy a traditional meal including soup, salad, couscous and fruit. Feeling refuelled, we'll drive for 1.5 hours to visit Chott El Djerid, a salt lake considered one of the most magical places in Tunisia. Don't forget to take a photo!
To round off the day, we'll stop at the Douz Desert, the gateway to the Sahara, where we'll walk through the dunes while the last rays of sunlight are tinting the sand with colour. If that's not enough for you, you can enjoy a unique experience in the desert. Fancy sandboarding or camel riding? If you don't want to do any of these activities, you can relax and admire the dune landscape while sipping a cup of tea.
Finally, at the end of the day, we'll arrive at the Bedouin camp where we'll stay to rest and refuel with a dinner under the stars.
Day 2: Sahara - Douz - Tozeur
Early in the morning, we'll have breakfast at the camp and watch the sunrise over the Sahara desert, an unforgettable sight!
We'll start the second day's journey on board the jeep, exploring other areas of Douz that we did not see the previous day. After an hour's drive, we'll stop for an hour in Kebili, where we'll have a hearty lunch. We'll also visit Souk Lahad for 30 minutes, where we'll learn about the cooling system of the irrigation water that emanates from the earth. You'll be amazed by this peculiar building!
As well as that, if you wish, you can take a 45-minute quad bike tour of the desert's dunes. In this case, you can book it on the day of the activity and enjoy this exciting experience in the Sahara Desert.
Finally, after this immersion in the desert, we'll return to your hotel in Tozeur. Arrival is scheduled at 3 pm.
Accommodation Info
This tour includes a night of accommodation at Dune Insolite, a campsite with about 10 haima tents equipped with a double bed and electricity. Shared bathrooms with showers and toilets are also available.
Please note that the price indicated is per person staying in a double haima. Under no circumstances will you have to share the tents with strangers. We offer single, double, triple and family tents.
