Fjords Road Trip
Fjords Road Trip
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Roald Amundsens Plass 1A, from where we'll set off on this exciting day trip to Sommarøy. Are you ready to discover "the summer island"?
First, we'll cross the bridge that connects it to the whale island, Kvaløya. At this point, you'll feel as if you have arrived in the Caribbean, as the landscape transforms into crystal clear waters, blue skies and fine white sandy beaches.
Next, we'll stop at the Ersfjordbotn viewpoint, a small village located right at the mouth of the beautiful Ersfjord fjord, in the far north of Norway. We guarantee that the views from this spot will remain in your memory forever!
We'll continue our journey through impressive valleys and lakes until we reach the turquoise waters of Sommarøy beach. Did you know that this small island has approximately 320 inhabitants? Impressive!
As we admire this landscape, we'll sit down briefly to refuel with a tasting of coffee and Norwegian soup or, if you prefer, we'll leave you some time to try a typical dish on your own in one of the restaurants in the area.
On the way back, keep your eyes peeled because, if luck is on our side, we may spot some reindeer. We'll also pass by the Sjøtun pier, with views of the Katfjord and the Hillesøy road.
Finally, we'll say goodbye at the starting point between 4 and 5 hours after the start of the activity.
Itinerary Changes
Please keep in mind that the itinerary is subject to change due to adverse weather conditions. In the event of adverse weather conditions, it's possible we're unable to reach Sommarøy and instead will walk around it.
