Inaugurated in 1897 and standing at 213 ft (65 m) tall, the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris wheel is the oldest in the world that is still operating. It was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I.
More than a simple attraction, the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel is a true journey to the past of the Austrian capital. With your ticket, you can climb into its pods and enjoy a lovely ride that lasts between 10 and 15 minutes, where you'll admire all the details of the urban landscape.
From up high, you'll have a spectacular scenic view, including the Danube River, the forests of Vienna, and the majestic St. Stephen's Cathedral. Plus, you'll be riding in the same Ferris wheel that was the stage for classic movies like The Third Man, which has witnessed more than a century of Austrian history.
