Tras-os-Montes Tour

At 9 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Vila Pouca de Aguiar and set off for Alto Tâmega, one of the areas that make up the beautiful region of Trás-os-Montes.

The first stop will be at Montalegre, where the impressive 12th-century castle located on top of a hill stands out. Then we will visit the Ecomuseum of Montalegre to learn about the history and heritage of this beautiful town.

The next village we will see is Boticas, where you fall in love with its elegant stone houses. Here we will visit its Rural Museum, and learn about its agricultural past by observing the traditional tools and ancient objects that are preserved on display. Then we will give you an hour of free time so that you can have lunch in one of the traditional eateries (not included).

After lunch, we will return to Vila Pouca de Aguiar, where we will see the Parque das Pedras Salgadas, a unique forest made up of stones of different shapes and sizes. Then we will go to Valpaços, where we will visit its Wine Museum and learn about the wine tradition of Trás-os-Montes.

The last stop will be in the town of Chaves, where we will admire its magnificent medieval fortress, a witness of fierce wars and confrontations. We will pass the elegant Roman bridge of Trajano and the thermal baths of Chaves, before returning to your hotel in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, arriving at 5 pm.
