Zakynthos Island Tour
Pristine beaches, rugged mountains and legendary history: explore the most amazing places on one of the most beautiful Greek islands on this complete tour of Zante.
Zakynthos Island Tour
After picking you up from your hotel in Zakynthos at 9:30 am, we'll set off on our complete guided tour of the island, one of the most beautiful in the Ionian Sea.
First, we'll head to a traditional olive oil factory. Here we'll get to know all about this important part of Zante's culture and history while learning how olive oil is produced.
Continuing our tour of Zante towards the island's rugged mountains, we'll pass through charming small villages like Kiliomeno, Agios Leon and Kampi. We'll make stops at key viewpoints to admire the wild beauty of the cliffs overlooking the Ionian Sea. Don't forget your camera!
Our tour of Zakynthos island will next take us to Maries, a mountain settlement that Mary Magdalene is said to have visited before arriving in Rome. We'll hear all about this story as we take in the views.
Towards the middle of the day, we'll reach the north coast of Zante. You'll have free time here to explore the stunning beaches, enjoy a dip in their turquoise waters and take a boat trip to the famous Blue Caves, one of the most spectacular natural sites on the island.
After meeting back up, we'll head to visit Anafonitria, home to the Monastery of St. Dionysius, the patron saint of the island. We'll learn the legend of this saint, who spent the last years of his life on Zakynthos, as we explore the historic temple. Did you know that some 15th century frescoes have recently been discovered here?
Towards the end of the day, we'll make our way to the northeast of the island, where we'll discover the picturesque sights of the traditional Greek towns of Katastary and Bochali. We'll end our tour of Zante dropping you back off at your hotel at approximately 5:30 pm.
