Austin Free Walking Tour
Tour Details
Welcome to the capital of Texas! At the scheduled time, we’ll start our free tour of Austin from the Visitors Center.
First, we’ll head to the iconic Driskill Hotel, a 4-star accommodation with a fascinating history. Then, we’ll continue our walk toward the impressive Capitol, the seat of the Texas state government. Do you know how tall its spectacular dome is? We won’t take long to find out!
In Capitol Square, we’ll see limestone government buildings from the 1850s from the outside, as well as more ambitious designs from the early 20th century. Our next stop will be outside the Texas Governor’s Mansion, one of the most impressive residences in this part of the city.
After that, we’ll pass by the Old Bakery and Emporium, one of the best places in Austin to learn about local history and art. The route will then continue alongside Saint Mary’s Cathedral, a Neo-Gothic Catholic church built in the second half of the 19th century.
Finally, after a tour lasting approximately 2 hours, we’ll conclude this free tour of Texas by returning to the meeting point.
Large Groups
On our free tour, bookings aren’t accepted for groups of more than 6 people, even if made through separate reservations. If you’re a larger group, we recommend booking a private tour of Austin.
