Activities in Antequera

Caminito del Rey Excursion

  • 62 reviews | 314 travellers
A must-do experience if you're in the Antequera area. Plus, you don't have to worry about where to park, just enjoy the walk. Natacha was great, explaining everything we needed to know about the Caminito and making the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant was great, with great views and food. In short, an experience worth repeating. (I'm asking Civitatis to re-introduce the guided tour of Antequera. Some of us still value the quality of the guides and are fed up with the massive free tours.)

Caminito del Rey Excursion

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Puerta de Estepa, from where we'll leave Antequera behind and head to the Caminito del Rey, one of the most popular routes in Andalusia!

After a 45-minute drive through the Malaga countryside and the Chorro reservoirs, we'll get out of the vehicle and walk to the entrance of the Caminito del Rey. Once at the starting point of the route, we'll give you a helmet and start the tour along this spectacular path built in the walls of the Gorge of the Gaitanes.

During the walk, we'll learn interesting facts about the history, geology, and vegetation of this magical enclave. All along this 2-hour route, we'll be accompanied by magnificent views of the impressive canyon, which we'll cross by means of wooden walkways and suspension bridges.

Afterwards, we'll continue walking for another 30 minutes until we reach the restaurant, where we'll give you a 15 (US$ 16.74) voucher to spend on lunch. You'll be able to enjoy the local gastronomy and panoramic views from the terrace for an hour and a half.

After lunch, we'll take a shuttle bus back to the starting point of the route and then board another vehicle that will take us back to Antequera, arriving 7 hours after the initial pickup.

Temporary Closures

If the Caminito del Rey closes unexpectedly during the course of the activity or with less than 24 hours notice, no refund will be possible. However, you'll be given the possibility to do the tour on another day (depending on availability).
