Toledo Day Trip + Tickets
Day Trip Options
When booking, you can choose from several options. For all routes, we'll meet at the designated time at Calle San Nicolás 15, a central point in Madrid next to the Royal Palace, before boarding the bus to Toledo, a monumental gem located 70 kilometers (43 miles) south of the Spanish capital. We'll make a stop along the way so you can grab a coffee.
Morning Tour
On arrival, we'll kick off a guided tour covering over 2,000 years of Toledo's history. We'll discover how Jews, Christians, and Muslims coexisted in the City of the Three Cultures and explore how this past shaped Toledo's distinctive architectural style.
Strolling through the cobbled, winding streets of Toledo, we'll take in iconic landmarks such as Plaza de Zocodover, the Alcázar, and the Cathedral, dating back to the 13th century. We'll admire the exterior of Toledo Cathedral before heading to the Iglesia de Santo Tomé, where we'll see one of El Greco's most celebrated works, The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, painted between 1586 and 1588. We'll explore the Cretan artist's deep connection to Toledo and its history.
We'll then head inside the Santa María la Blanca synagogue to discover the Jewish cultural legacy at the main Hebrew temple of the old town. Before heading back to Madrid, you'll have around 20 minutes of free time. Total duration: 5 hours.
Afternoon Tour
This option follows a similar route to the morning tour, but instead of visiting the Iglesia de Santo Tomé and the Santa María la Blanca synagogue, we'll go inside the Cathedral.
Visiting Toledo in the afternoon means we can explore this magnificent Gothic masterpiece in depth, wandering through its chapels, admiring its spectacular stained glass windows, and seeing works by El Greco in the sacristy. You'll be completely awestruck!
We'll also admire the exteriors of other Toledo monuments and have around 20 minutes of free time before heading back to Madrid. Total duration: 5 hours.
Full-Day Tour
On arrival, we'll begin our walking tour of Toledo's historic center at the Toledo Cathedral, the perfect starting point for discovering the artistic masterpieces housed within Spain's Primate Cathedral.
Our next stop is the Iglesia de Santo Tomé, where we'll admire El Greco's The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, painted between 1586 and 1588. We'll explore the artist's ties to Toledo and delve into the Jewish cultural heritage at the main Hebrew temple of the old town.
We'll then walk to the Santa María la Blanca Synagogue, which now houses an extraordinary Mudéjar art museum. Nearby, we'll visit the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, a spectacular complex commissioned by Isabella I of Castile.
You'll then have around 1.5 hours of free time for lunch. Afterwards, we'll take a sightseeing bus tour of Toledo, taking in the exterior architecture of several monuments and making our way to the Mirador del Valle for the best panoramic views of the city.
Finally, after 8 hours, we'll say our goodbyes at Plaza de Oriente in Madrid.
Full-Day Tour With Lunch
This option follows the same itinerary as above, with the addition of a tapas lunch menu that includes: Manchego roasted pepper stew with tuna belly, house Russian salad, potato omelette pintxo, broken eggs with ham, carcamusas stew, and a drink of your choice: water, wine, beer, or a soft drink.
