Van Gogh Tour in Provence
When booking, you can select the half-day or the full-day tour. For both tours, we'll meet at 9 am at Boulevard des Lices in Arles and hop on a minibus ready to follow the footsteps of one of the most relevant post-impressionist painters of the 19th century: Van Gogh.
Half-Day Tour (5 hours)
The first stop will be in Saint-Rémy de Provence to visit the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole Monastery, where there's a recreation of Van Gogh's bedroom!
Then we'll stop at Montmajour Abbey, one of the most outstanding Benedictine monuments in the south of France. What's more, during the flowering season, we'll stop at a sunflower field, just like those which inspired Van Gogh's famous painting!
Lastly, we'll arrive in Arles, the town where Van Gogh lived in France, and we'll visit the Pont Langlois, a bridge in Provence that always reminded him of his home town and was also the subject of many of his works.
Full-Day Tour (9 hours)
On the full-day tour, we'll also start off by visiting Saint-Rémy de Provence and the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole Monastery. From there we'll head to Les Baux-de-Provence, a wonderful medieval citadel built on the Alpilles. You'll get to explore this beautiful area and take pictures of the magnificent fortress which towers over the landscape. You'll also have the opportunity to enter the Carrières de Lumières quarries to attend a spectacular sound and light show dedicated to Salvador Dalí, one of Van Gogh's great influences.
Before returning to Arles, we'll enjoy a Provencal wine tasting. Then we'll stop at Montmajour Abbey and a sunflower field, just like those which inspired Van Gogh's famous painting! Once in Arles, we'll visit the Pont Langlois, a bridge in Provence that always reminded him of his home town and was also the subject of many of his works.
