Asti Private Tour

At 9 am your guide will be waiting for you in Piazza Campo del Palio, one of Asti's most iconic spots. Once you've arrived, you'll start your private tour of the city, during which you'll discover the Roman, Medieval, Renaissance and Jewish essence of this Piedmontese city. Let's go!

You'll visit the remains of the Domus, a splendid Roman villa located a few steps from the Red Tower, which is one of Asti's oldest monuments. The Torre Rossa is also the presumed place of imprisonment of San Secondo, Asti's patron saint.

After delving into Asti's medieval history, you'll reach the Collegiate Church of San Secondo, one of the oldest Gothic churches in the city. You'll see its crypt, which is the only remaining element of the temple's pre-Romanesque architecture. We'll then continue walking towards the Cathedral district so you can see the Crypt of Sant'Anastasio, one of Asti's most symbolic monuments.

Your journey through the city's artistic heritage will then take you to Palazzo Mazzetti, a masterpiece of Baroque art. This location is also home to Asti's current civic art gallery, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, which bears the most significant expression of Gothic architecture in Piedmont.

We'll then reach Palazzo Alfieri, the birthplace of the famous Italian poet Vittorio Alfieri. Our next stop will be the Palazzo del Michelerio, where we'll also find the Asti Territorial Palaeontological Museum. Did you know that the museum was previously located inside the Complesso di San Pietro in Consavia?

After this immersion in art and history, we'll take a short wine-themed break so we can discuss the city's incredible winemaking tradition, specifically Moscato d'Asti, a wine you may recognise...

The tour will end at around 6 pm in Piazza Alfieri.
