See some of the Caribbean's most exotic wildlife on our Belize Zoo & Baboon Sanctuary Day Trip from Belize City. You'll see both creatures from different tropical areas and a conservation centre.
Belize Zoo & Baboon Sanctuary Day Trip
At the confirmed time, we'll pick you up from your hotel or the Belize City Port and drive to Belize Zoo, which is just 30 minutes away.
Once we've arrived, we'll see a wide variety of Caribbean fauna, including Belizean jungle birds and endemic crocodiles. We'll also get a close-up look at one of this part of Latin America's most extraordinary animals: the jabiru stork.
Our visit to the zoo will continue to the mammal area, where we'll see the jaguars, mountain lions and wild cats that inhabit Belize's lush interior landscapes. In addition, we'll see several Baird's Tapirs (also called Mountain Cows), an iconic symbol of Belizean wildlife.
After our zoo visit, we'll head to the Belize Baboon Sanctuary. In this conservation centre, we'll see how the black howler monkeys are cared for and protected. Do you know how these monkeys got their name? They have a characteristic powerful howl that sounds like it would come from much larger macaques!
We'll finish our day trip and return to our pick up points in Belize City 5 hours after our departure.
