Belmopan & Blue Hole National Park Day Trip
At 9 am, you'll be picked up from your hotel or the Belize City Port. After just 30 minutes of driving, we'll arrive at one of the most beautiful nature spots in the country: the Blue Hole National Park.
In this immense open space spanning 500 acres, we'll see two cave systems; St. Hermans and Crystal. Next, we'll head to the park's pride and joy, the blue hole that gives it its name. We'll discuss how it was formed, why the water has such an intense blue colour and more.
After our visit to the National Park, we'll set off for Belmopan, one of Latin America's smallest capital cities. We'll take a tour of the city, during which we'll see its most iconic buildings, including the Parliament of Belize and the sprawling campus of the National University.
On our tour we'll also learn about the history of the town, which was founded in 1970 following serious damage to the former capital, Belize City, after the 1961 Hurricane Hattie. We'll discuss this event as well as some other interesting facts about the city before finishing our guided tour.
We'll arrive back at the pick up points in Belize City at 3 pm and finish our day trip.
