Why Visit the Natural History Museum in Berlin?

Located just a 10-minute walk from the Central Station, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, the Natural History Museum, is one of the German capital's main scientific institutions.

With your ticket, you can explore the rooms of the permanent exhibition with an audio guide in English. It's one of the most important exhibitions on natural history in Europe! In this collection, you'll find everything, especially vestiges of plants, animals, fossils, minerals, and meteorites.

One of the museum's main spaces is the Dinosaur Hall, where you'll see the skeleton of the Giraffatitan, one of the largest prehistoric living creatures in the world. It's over 42 ft (13 m) tall! You'll also admire the bones of species like the Diplodocus and the Kentrosaurus. In this room, you'll also find Tristan Otto, the original skeleton of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the original cranium of a Triceratops called Amalie.

Another important place in the museum is the Biodiversity Wall, which houses an impressive exhibition of about 3000 species of dissected animals. You can't miss visiting the Wet Collection, located on the east wing of the building. This room is home to a vast collection of fishspidersand crustaceans conserved in formalin. There are around a thousand species!

The Mineral Collection is also worth visiting, as it has more than 1000 varieties, with some coming from the Alexander von Humboldt collection.

If you want to discover the mysteries of astrophysics, don't miss visiting the System Earth. This fascinating exhibition on the formation of the cosmos and planet Earth is perfect to learn facts about volcanoes, the impact of meteorites, and the movement of the continents.
