Criadero Lusitania Stable Private Trip
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Bogotá and make our way north. After an hour, we'll arrive in the El Rosal municipality, located in the Department of Cundinamarca.
On the outskirts of this town, we'll find Criadero Lusitania. It's known for its equestrian centre with a history going back 3 generations, caring for and breeding Colombian Paso Fino horses. Did you know that this race has been declared a Genetic Cultural Heritage?
After arriving at the centre, we'll be welcomed with a Colombian coffee. Next, we'll watch a short film about the breeding of Colombian horses that will give us some insight into the historical, genetic and cultural importance of this distinguished equine race.
After this video, we'll take a guided tour of the facilities at Criadero Lusitania. During the tour, we'll see the tack room and of course, visit the the stables where the horses are kept. Here, we'll be able to brush, pet, and feed the horses, respecting these noble steeds at all times.
Once we've finished the facilities tour, we'll grab a bite to eat, delighting in a traditional Colombian lunch. The menu includes a main dish of either sanchocho, bandeja paisa, criolla burger, ajiaco or a vegetarian option. To drink, you can choose between a soft drink or mineral water.
After eating, we'll head to Criadero Lusitania trails to attend an equestrian demonstration that will directed by a chalan, the the stable horse tamer. After the display, those who wish may mount a horse, supervised of course by the chalan.
Finally, we'll say goodbye to the horse and begin our return journey to Bogotá. We're expected to arrive back around 6 hours after the initial starting time.
