Orange Grove Tour
Discover all the curiosities about the star product of the Valencian Community: the orange. You'll visit a field of crops, tour a specialised museum and taste recently harvested oranges.
Itinerario
We will meet at 9:40 am at the Castellón de la Plana Tourist Office and board the bus that will take us to the orange fields on the outskirts of the city. Throughout the morning, you will have the opportunity to learn about the path this fruit takes from the tree to its arrival at the homes. Are you ready?
First off, we'll discover the history of the family that founded the farmhouse. Who were they? How did they start growing oranges? What was the secret of their success? Next, we'll see the different tools used in the cultivation of this tasty citrus fruit.
From the hand of a local farmer, we'll learn about the process of planting, grafting and maintenance of the oranges, as well as their different varieties. Afterwards, we'll enjoy the incredible natural environment of the farmhouse by walking among gardens, vineyards and millenary olive trees.
Of course, we'll stop in front of the orange trees so that you can choose the oranges you would like to taste. You'll pick them yourself!
After tasting these high-quality oranges, we'll get to know the many gastronomic products and liqueurs that are made from them. We'll return to the bus with 2 kg of oranges as a gift and we'll set off back to Castellón de la Plana, where we'll arrive at 1:10 pm.
