Tour Details
We’ll meet at the scheduled time at 80 Nui Ngoc, in Khe Sau, where you’ll receive your bike and helmet, along with brief safety instructions. During the tour, we’ll cycle along the paths bordering Cat Ba National Park, a protected natural area that combines jagged mountains, lush tropical forests, and rice paddies. Let’s go!
Just 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) away, we’ll make our first stop at the Military Hospital Cave, a three-level shelter carved into the rock that served as a hospital and secret base during the Vietnam War. Did you know this underground complex even had a cinema?
After exploring the cave, we’ll continue toward the entrance of Cat Ba National Park. Here we’ll take a break to learn about the local flora and fauna and enjoy our first views of the island.
The route will then take us to the commune of Hien Hao, where we’ll be welcomed by a beekeeping family. Here, we’ll taste their freshly produced honey and recharge our energy with fruit in a fully rural setting. You’ll love it!
We’ll continue cycling through rice paddies until we reach a viewpoint with panoramic views of Lan Ha Bay. The sight of its emerald waters dotted with small islets will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the day.
Finally, after 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) of cycling, we’ll leave the bikes near Hien Hao Beach and take a public bus back to the center of Cat Ba, where the tour will end after 3.5 hours.
