Day Trip to the Atacama Desert Bloom
When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from the two options shown below. They both include pickup from your hotel at 8 am, transport and an English-speaking guide,
Half-Day Trip (5 hours)
After picking you up, we'll begin our tour of the Atacama region by entering the Sea of Dunes. You'll be left amazed by the giant sand dunes that stretch out as far as the eye can see.
Next, we'll head to the town of Caldera to admire the unique landscapes of the Desert Bloom in the Atacama region. We're in one of the driest parts of the world, but despite the lack of rainfall, the greenery thrives. How can this be? The desert bloom is due to a natural phenomenon that allows the growth of colourful flowers.
We'll discover how this phenomenon occurs and, after taking photos of the colourful scenery, take you back to your hotel for 1 pm.
Full-Day Trip (11 hours 30 minutes)
If you go for this option, we'll head to a local bar after picking you up so you can have a light breakfast of different local products. We'll then head to the mouth of the Copiapó River, a biodiverse wetland that's been declared a Nature Sanctuary.
Our next stop will be at Carrizal Bajo, another wetland declared a Nature Sanctuary, where we'll continue learning about the Atacama region. We'll take a break here to have a picnic lunch that'll include a sandwich, a selection of cold meats and mineral water.
After lunch, we'll head to the Llanos de Challe National Park to admire its flowery desert area. When we get there, you'll notice how the intoxicating scent of the flowers floats around this dry area.
We'll then head back to your hotel and drop you off at 7:30 pm.
