Cotignac Private Tour
Tour Details
Welcome to Cotignac, one of the most beautiful villages in France! At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the renowned Lou Calen Hotel & Restaurant—Brad Pitt and George Clooney's favorite restaurant—and set off on an exciting private tour in the heart of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Let's go!
Our journey begins along the Cours Gambetta, the village's main street. Lined with charming local cafés, restaurants, and shops, it's a popular gathering place for locals and visitors. As we walk along this bustling avenue, we'll discuss the incredible history of the town that has deep ties with the olive oil and silkworm industries.
Continuing down the Cours, we'll arrive at the Shrine of Our Lady of Graces' Church. This emblematic spot is famous for being the claimed site of a Marian apparition in the 16th century. What's more, it was here that King Louis XIV made a pilgrimage to thank the Virgin Mary for his birth. A true journey into the past!
By now, you're probably wondering about the dramatic limestone cliff that overlooks Cotignac. Well, wonder no further! Our last stop comes as we ascend the Rocher and learn about the ancient troglodyte cave dwellings. Step by step, we’ll make our way up 90 stone-carved steps, leading us to a breathtaking viewpoint where we can take in the sweeping panoramas of Cotignac. The perfect finishing touch!
Then, after an incredible 2 hours, we'll bring the activity to an end back at the meeting point along the Cours Gambetta. See you next time!
