Beautiful colonial buildings and picturesque streets await us on this free tour of Cuenca, one of the most beautiful cities in the Ecuadorian Andes. You'll love it!

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll begin this free tour of Cuenca at the Mariscal Sucre Tourist Office, located in front of the Parque Calderón.

At this central point, we'll visit the Sagrario Church, known as the Old Cathedral of Cuenca. Those who wish to do so can admire the sacred art pieces on display in its museum. Directly opposite this temple is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the New Cathedral. We'll walk through its central nave, and those who wish to admire the city from above can climb up to the viewpoint of its domes on their own.

Continuing our tour through the Parque Calderón, we'll see the Provincial Court of Justice from the outside. Next, we'll pass by the Cuenca City Hall and the Basilica of San Alfonso. We'll also visit the cloister of the Seminary of San Luis, the former headquarters of the Catholic University.

Next, we will stop at a local bar, where we'll enjoy a tasting of Ecuadorian cheeses. After the tasting, we'll continue our tour through the Plaza de las Flores and Plaza de San Francisco. From there, we'll venture into the picturesque streets of the old town, where we'll pass by famous colonial-style hotels such as Casa Montalvo and Casa Blanca. At the latter, those who wish to do so can visit the viewpoint on the top floor, which offers views of much of the colonial quarter.

Our next stop will be at the Paccari Chocolate Shop. If you feel like it, here you can sample Ecuadorian coffee and chocolate, which will make your mouth water.

Finally, we'll pass by the iconic Toquilla Straw Hat Museum and, after a 4.5-hour tour, we'll conclude this free tour of Cuenca at the intersection of Calle Benigno Malo and Calle Larga. We'll say goodbye at a local bar, where you can sample authentic Ecuadorian beer on your own. It will be the perfect ending!

Group Size

This free tour doesn't admit groups of more than 6 people, even if they book the activity separately. If you're part of a larger group, we recommend booking this private tour of Cuenca.
