Planchón-Peteroa Volcanic Complex Hiking Tour
The Planchón-Peteroa volcanic complex, located between Chile and Argentina, is one of the most amazing in the Andes. We'll see the majesty of its landscapes on this hiking route, in which we'll cross spectacular valleys and muleteers' paths.
Planchón-Peteroa Volcanic Complex Hiking Tour
The hiking route through the Planchón-Peteroa volcanic complex varies depending on whether it's done in summer or winter. In both cases, pickup at the indicated time from your hotel in Curicó, transport and guide in English are included.
In addition, you'll enjoy a picnic lunch consisting of a sandwich, a cereal bar, a chocolate bar and a typical Chilean food called ñaco. You'll also replenish your strength with a picnic snack of nuts, cheeses and salamis.
Summer Route
After picking you up in Curicó, we'll head east towards the Teno lagoons, a captivating spot in the commune of Romeral, where we'll begin our trekking route. We'll walk for approximately 6 hours through the Planchón-Peteroa volcanic complex: a spectacular group of Andean mountains located on the border between Chile and Argentina.
We'll stop at the milestone that marks the border between the two countries, where we'll take one of the breaks to regain our strength. We'll then start our return hike, where we'll continue to enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes of the Chilean Andes in the Maule region.
Winter Route
If you decide to enjoy the tour during the southern winter, we'll travel from Curicó to the place where we'll start the hiking route, which will depend on the amount of snow accumulated.
We'll walk through these places with the help of trekking poles and snowshoes, which will allow us to cross the frozen landscapes of the Andes. On this winter route through the Planchón-Peteroa volcanic complex, we'll go to the viewpoint of the Teno lagoons, where we'll take the opportunity to recharge our batteries in an extraordinary natural environment.
Tour without pickup
If you prefer, you can also opt for the option without pickup. In this case, we'll meet directly at 9:30 am at the Tierras Bayas refuge, located in the Chilean region of Maule.
