Cusco Tour & Inka Museum
Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time at the entrance to the Inka Museum to begin this guided tour of Cusco. Are you ready to get to know the ancient capital of the Incan Empire?
Inside the museum, we'll explore an extensive collection of artefacts that recount the history and customs of this millennia-old civilisation. Over the course of 1 hour, you'll dive head-first into the past with the help of these impressive exhibitions and objects.
After this visit, we'll walk 100 metres to the Plaza de Armas, the undisputable heart of Cusco. Here, we'll reveal the secrets of this special spot while we view the colonial architecture and the ambience that surrounds this emblematic square.
Next, we'll head over to a traditional chichería, where we'll have the opportunity to taste chicha de jora, the famous Andean corn beer. Here, you'll learn about the importance of this drink in the everyday lives of the locals. It'll be a stop filled with history and flavour!
Our waking route will then take us to Calle Hatun Rumiyoq, a street famous for the Palace of Inca Roca and the incredible 12-Angled Stone, a symbol of the mastery of Inca builders. You'll learn all the details about this marvel of stone engineering!
Following onwards, we'll reach the San Blas neighbourhood, featuring cobbled streets and artisanal shops. This charming spot is the ideal one to immerse yourself in Cusco's artistic atmosphere and find unique regional souvenirs. We'll spend 20 minutes exploring its artisanal workshops and enjoying the bohemian ambience.
Afterwards, we'll head over to a Luthiers shop to learn about the richness of Andean music. We'll go on a 20-minute guided tour, where you'll find out all about how these traditional instruments are made and their importance in the local culture.
A few steps away, we'll reach Calle 7 Borreguitos, a street with great historical significance. We'll also come across an ancient Incan ceremonial site, where we'll tell you about this civilisation's spiritual practices and rituals.
Our tour will culminate after a total of 3 hours in San Cristóbal Square, where we'll have unparalleled views of Cusco. You'll have some time to take pictures and admire the beautiful city while we raise a toast with a pisco sour. Cheers!
