Valle Rojo Quad Tour + Rainbow Mountain
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and climb on board a minibus to set off south. After a journey of approximately 2 hours, we'll reach the district of Cusipata, where we'll make a stop to enjoy a buffet-style breakfast, including bread, butter, jam, scrambled eggs, fruit, and infusions. The best way to get ready before the adventure!
After Cusipata, we'll continue traveling by minibus for 1 hour and 20 minutes toward the town of Laya, located a 15,190 ft (4,630 m) above sea level. Here, we'll provide you with your individual or double quad, depending on which you booked, and the safety equipment, and you'll receive a technical chat about the necessary instructions to drive safely.
Then, we'll start our adventure in Valle Rojo. For 30 minutes, we'll explore the trails that cross this stunning landscape, which has this name because of the ground's red hues. This area is not very busy and offers spectacular views of the Andean surroundings. You'll be amazed!
Once the quad tour is over, we'll hop off these vehicles to go on a 30-minute hiking route until we reach Vinicunca, popularly known as Rainbow Mountain. Its colored stripes have made it one of the most photographed places in Peru. During the visit, we'll explain how these fascinating mineral pigmentations are created. It's truly a geological gem!
After admiring this wonder of the Peruvian Andes mountain range and taking incredible pictures, we'll start our hike back to the point where our quads were left. We'll hop on board the minibus and head to Cusipata once again, where a revitalizing buffet-style lunch awaits. You'll have options such as fish, chicken, rice, potatoes, soups, creams, and salads.
Finally, we'll return to Cusco and drop you off at Plaza del Regocijo, very close to the Plaza de Armas, after a total of 14 hours.
