Dubrovnik Sea Kayak Tour

  • 101 reviews | 1,245 travellers
It is a very entertaining activity, plus the guides were super cool, and in particular Mike who gave us interesting information while he checked to make sure we weren't left behind because my friend and I weren't that good, it ended a little earlier because he was coming a storm but everything was super.

Admire unparalleled panoramic views of the city of Dubrovnik from the sea on this 3-hour kayak tour. You'll explore the beautiful Dalmatian coast and see striking coves and fortifications.

Description

Begin your tour from the entrance to the Old Town, where your guide will explain all you need to know about the activity.

After a demonstration of kayak paddling, you'll put on the necessary equipment and get into your yellow kayak at Pile Bay. While you row, you’ll admire the striking fortification that hangs on the edge of the cliffs, built to protect the most important city of the Republic of Ragusa.

Cruise past the city walls and make your way to Lokrum Island where, according to an old legend, Richard the Lionheart was shipwrecked on his way back from the Crusade. From the sea, you'll observe Fort Royal, a fortification erected by Napoleon’s troops in the early nineteenth century. Near the rocky beaches of Lokrum, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the Dalmatian coast.

You'll then row your kayak until you get to Betina Cave, a hidden beach partially covered by a natural cove, which is only accessible from the sea. From here, dive into the transparent waters and, if you feel adventurous, you can go snorkelling and discover the colourful fish. Afterwards, you'll be given a snack to recover your strength and you’ll have time to sunbathe on the beach.

After enjoying the Dalmatian coast and the Adriatic Sea on this 3-hour tour, you'll head back to Dubrovnik.

Route changes in summer

From 1st June to 31st August, the kayak tour will last 2 hours. The route we'll follow will be similar to the one described above, but we won't go to Lokrum Island. This route will cover a total distance of 2.5 miles (4 km), as opposed to the 4 miles (7 km) travelled during the rest of the year.

Children aged 5-7

Young children between the ages of 5 and 7 will have to sit between two grown ups. Children of this age will only be allowed to participate if they are accompanied by two adults.
