Galán Volcano Private Tour

We'll pick you up at the indicated time at your hotel in El Peñón. From there we'll hit the road toward the northern part of the Argentine province of Catamarca in a 4x4 vehicle.

Crossing the vast Andean landscapes of the department of Antofagasta de la Sierra, we'll find the caldera of Cerro Galán. On the slopes of this majestic peak, located at an altitude of 5,912 meters (19,396 feet), we'll border the different lakes that surround the entire mountain.

Among the main lagoons of the Galán volcano are Cavi, Diamante, Pabellón, and Grande. These bodies of water are known for their incredible clarity, donning reflections of the surrounding mountains in their waters. You'll have time to soak up these magnificent landscapes while you enjoy the picnic lunch you brought with you.

Following a bite to eat, we'll admire the various rock formations that surround the mountain and visit the viewpoint of the Galán volcano. We'll also enter the crater to better appreciate the dimensions of this enormous caldera.

We'll continue our private tour of Cerro Galán visiting its fumaroles and hot springs. Here we'll learn about some aspects of volcanology and local geology, as this part of South America is very conducive to the study of Andean nature.

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in El Peñón, where we'll arrive 7 hours after pickup.
