What I have to highlight is the instructor's attention because it was the best thing about it. What I didn't like, but what's wrong with everything, was that it was overcrowded; where there was a figure or a turtle, that's overwhelming.

The activity was very well organized. Our instructor, Tesoro, was attentive to us at all times. 100% recommended.

Gili Trawangan Tours & Activities | Top Experiences Await

Gili Trawangan is a small island paradise off the northwest coast of Lombok, Indonesia. Famous for its turquoise waters, vibrant coral reefs, and relaxed atmosphere, it's a favourite spot for backpackers, honeymooners, and travellers seeking the charm of tropical island life. Whether you're looking to dive into crystal-clear seas, enjoy lively beach parties, or simply relax in the sun, Gili Trawangan welcomes you with warmth and stunning scenery.

A Brief History

Once a quiet fishing community, Gili Trawangan has transformed over the past few decades into one of Southeast Asia’s premier island destinations. Its rise began in the 1990s when diving and tourism started to flourish, but it has kept its unique island spirit, with no motorised vehicles and a laid-back lifestyle.

Best Time to Go

The weather is warm all year, but the dry season from May to September is ideal for visiting. During these months, you’ll experience less rain, calm sea conditions, and perfect days for snorkelling, diving, and sunbathing on the beach.

How can I get around the island?

Cars and motorbikes are not allowed. You can explore on foot, by bicycle, or by 'cidomo' (horse-drawn carriage), making it easy to enjoy the peaceful vibe everywhere you go.

Is it safe to swim and snorkel?

Yes, the waters are generally calm and clear, especially on the east coast, making it ideal for swimming, snorkelling, and spotting sea turtles. Just remember to follow local safety advice and watch out for strong currents in some areas.
