Have you always dreamed of visiting the Great Barrier Reef? Now's your chance with this three-day trip from the Gold Coast.
3 Day Great Barrier Reef Tour
We'll meet in the Gold Coast at 5:45 am, and we'll start our adventure. Are you ready?
After just two hours, we'll make the first stop of the day: Australia Zoo. This is the biggest and best wildlife conservation facility in the entire world and was founded by the Irwin family. Here, children and adults alike can learn about the country's exotic animals, including giant tortoise and adorable koalas and you can even say hello to some friendly kangaroos, plus you'll learn about the family's conservation activities.
After this incredible visit, we'll travel 186 miles (300 km) until we reach Kelly's Beach Resort. Once you've left your cases and settled in, we'll make our way to the beach where you can enjoy a guided snorkelling tour, searching for the area's exotic inhabitants.
Next, we'll visit the Mon Repos Turtle Centre. At this sea turtle conservation centre, you'll learn all about the life cycle of these reptiles. If you visit between November and March, you'll see how the turtles make their way to the shore to lay their eggs. Or, alternatively, if you visit in February, you'll have the chance to see the turtles hatching and making their way to the sea.
With your batteries recharged and after a delicious continental breakfast, we'll board a boat which will take us to explore the Great Barrier Reef.
On the journey, you'll be able to admire the incredible surroundings and you might even see a friendly dolphin swimming next to the boat. Not only that but if you visit between June and November, you might be lucky enough to spot a humpback whale!
We'll anchor down, and you'll be able to jump into the sea and explore the world's largest coral reef system. The best way to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site is by snorkelling, so we'll provide you with the equipment and you'll be able to discover one of the places with the most biodiversity in the world. Don't worry if you don't like getting in the water, you can take a glass-bottom boat, where you can admire the reef without getting wet.
To bring this incredible day to an end, we'll visit Lady Musgrave Island. On the island, we'll walk around, trying to spot some of the native, exotic birds that inhabit this area. Afterwards, we'll return to the hotel.
On the final day, after breakfast, you'll have free time to enjoy as you wish. You could make use of the hotel's facilities, relax on the beach or you could even take this opportunity to try one of the activities offered locally, such as surf classes or diving lessons (not included).
We'll then make our way back to the Gold Coast, where we'll arrive at about 7:30 pm.
